I studied graphic design at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem and started Studio Breen in 2012. Ten years of running my own studio taught me everything design school doesn’t: cold outreach, client acquisition, defining project goals, and delivering identities and websites end to end, including posters for the KNVB, the Dutch football association. Alongside the studio I’ve spent six years as a designer for a global retail group, building design systems and high-volume campaigns for millions of customers.

Covid was the turning point. I started studying what money actually is: reading business and startup books, investing, and eventually finding Bitcoin. The more I learned, the stronger the conviction grew. Jeff Booth’s The Price of Tomorrow shaped my vision more than anything: deflation driven by technology, and a system that finally aligns with it. As Jeff says, shift your energy toward the new system. That’s what I’m doing.

The dawn of usable AI removed the last excuse. A designer can now build what he designs. So the studio evolved into a webshop, the sketchbooks turned into shipped products, and everything I build now runs on the values Bitcoin taught me: transparency, sovereignty, and value for value.
